I’ve been thinking about my process a lot lately, especially when it comes to starting projects, mainly because I don’t have a whole lot of definition in that area. It’s like some mad scramble to just get all my thoughts out on paper.
The top is 3 pages of the new chapter of Land of the Dead. It’s…yeah. I pretty much just write stuff until pictures start working better than words. And sometimes the pictures get drawn over the words and it becomes a big mess. The bottom is the first few pages of Jupiter June, a comic my friend Ben Tye, wrote for me. Most of the pages are still pretty loose, but it’s much more organized, I think because I didn’t have the burden of writing anything.
And my journal comix? They don’t get thumb nailed at all. I just kind of draw them, erase stuff sometimes, and draw more. It’s really weird the way that writing effects my work.
